According to the Act on Free Legal Aid, certain cases may entitle the client to legal assistance covered by the public purse (free legal aid). Some types of cases always qualify for free legal aid, other types of cases require that the client's gross annual income does not exceed NOK 350,000 for singles \/ NOK 540,000 for married couples, registered partners, etc. or more than NOK 150,000 in net assets. The state administrator may make exceptions to the limits in certain cases. Further information about free legal aid can be obtained from the State Administrator or from our office. You are encouraged to discuss the question of free legal aid coverage with the responsible lawyer for a specific assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Client's legal aid insurance, home insurance, travel insurance or other insurance schemes via specific insurance agreements or trade unions, may also cover costs for legal assistance in certain types of cases, depending on the terms of the specific insurance agreement. The client must provide the law firm with the necessary information for an assessment of the insurance agreement's scope of cover.
